When Winnipeg’s 1997 “flood of the century” threatened to cause a major sewer line back-up, Balcaen and Sons Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning was there to save 450 homes from disaster. The community spirit shown by Balcaen and Sons Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning staff that day has been an integral part of this business since the beginning.
Three generations ago, Jack and Kay Balcaen started Balcaen and Sons Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning out of a two-storey house off what was then a mud road. Today, what began as a small local business with a single vehicle and 1 intrepid couple has blossomed into a family enterprise, with over 25 vans and an operating staff of 40. Brothers Rob, Ron, George and Tom bought the business from their father Gerry in 2002 and continue to provide the kind of quality service that has met and exceeded customer expectations for decades.
